Julie – North Knox

Julie moved to Knoxville after spending 30 years in the metro Atlanta area, where her family still lives. She took an early retirement package from Lucent Technologies where she worked as an asset manager, then joined RockTenn Paperboard’s legal department as a records manager specialist.

After moving to Knoxville, Julie immediately became involved in the neighborhood that she loves – Edgewood Park Neighborhood Association – and was elected as Secretary and Events Coordinator. She now lives near a walking trail where she gets to play with her neighbors’ dogs as they take their daily walks, and is honored to claim both the humans and animals as her friends. Although she currently does not have a pet in her home, she has been approved to foster feral cats and she volunteers at the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley.

She has owned several cats through the years, as well as a golden retriever mix, a miniature poodle, a bichon frieze and a Siberian husky. She recently fostered a pregnant stray bichon mix that gave birth to 6 puppies in Julie’s house. Her friends were so excited about these babies that her home became the weekly place to come play with puppies, and all of the puppies quickly found their permanent homes.
